Because the sheen runs on both sides, it looks polished from every angle, even where the tails twist and fold. Single-face satin is shiny on one side and matte on the other. Double face is softer and more luxurious, and it's the only satin we use.

A little planning makes the print pop. A few things we've learned printing thousands of ribbons:

• Contrast is everything. Dark print on light ribbon, or light print on dark ribbon. Tone-on-tone looks elegant up close but can fade from a few feet away.
• Keep it simple. A logo, a short message, or an icon. One clear idea reads better than a crowded ribbon.
• Give it room. A little space around the text keeps it crisp. We'll help with spacing and placement if you're unsure.
• Let color do the work. We print in one color, so the pairing is the magic. Match the ribbon color and the print or foil to your brand palette, your wedding colors, or a school's colors for a look that feels intentional and instantly recognizable.

Sending your logo: files that print best

Getting your artwork print-ready is simple, and it makes all the difference. The better the file, the crisper your print.

• We print in one color. Your logo, text, and icon come out in a single print color you choose, so clean, bold designs work best. Have a multi-color logo? We'll adapt it and help you pick the shade that carries your brand.
• Keep the print area in mind. Our satin ribbon is 1 inch wide, so there isn't much room. Small fonts and skinny logos, thin lines, or fine icons can fill in or fade at that scale. Bold, simple art at a comfortable size always reads best.
• Vector is best. An .ai, .eps, .pdf, or .svg file scales to ribbon size with clean, sharp edges. If you have one, send it.
• No vector? Send the largest, highest-resolution image you have. A big .png or .jpg at 300 dpi (at actual size) can print beautifully. A small web image or a screenshot usually won't hold up.
• A transparent background helps. A .png with a clear background lets us place your logo cleanly on any ribbon color.
• Share your colors. Tell us your brand, wedding, or school colors, and we'll match the ribbon and the print or foil as closely as our colors allow.

Print colors, foils, and fonts

We print in a single color per design, so the artistry is in the pairing. Choose your ribbon color, then a print color or a foil that sets it off. Foil options include gold, silver, rose gold, and more. Here's where it gets fun: pair your ribbon and print colors with your box color to pull your whole brand palette together. Matching all three to your brand, your wedding colors, or a school's colors is one of the easiest ways to make a gift feel intentional and instantly recognizable.

How much ribbon will I need?

Each spool is 50 yards (1800 inches) of 1-inch-wide ribbon. How far it goes depends on your box size and bow style. Here's a general guide for a basic wrap with a simple bow. Want a fuller or double bow, or long tails? Add 2 to 3 feet (24 to 36 inches) per box.

Will I get a proof before you print?

Yes, if you'd like one. Select the proof option and we'll email a mockup before we print. The mockup is a black-and-white layout proof for placement and sizing only, so it shows the arrangement, not the final printed colors. Once you approve it, we go into production.

Can I use my own logo or icon?

Yes. Choose the "yes, I have a custom logo" option, or pick up to two icons from our 70-plus built-in choices. We print in a single color, so we'll set your logo in one print color of your choice.

Can I use my own font?

Yes. Send us the file, or tell us the name and we'll do our best to match it. You can also combine a logo with a message and an icon in one design.

Will all logos and fonts print well on the ribbon?

Not always, and we'll always be upfront about it. Ribbon has a limited printable area, so very small text, thin fonts, fine lines, intricate details, and small icons or shapes may not reproduce clearly. Your artwork is resized proportionally to fit the ribbon width, which can make small details even harder to print. For the best result, we recommend clean, simple artwork with clear lettering and strong lines. If we spot anything that may not print well, we'll let you know before production.

Can you pre-cut the ribbon for my slotted boxes?

Yes. Let us know it's for our changeable ribbon boxes and we'll cut it for you. One 50-yard roll gives approximately 60 ribbons at about 29 inches each. Final quantities and cut lengths can vary slightly depending on logo placement, spacing, and the cutting space needed. We recommend a spacing of 0.50 to 0.75 inch.

Is the ribbon washable?

No. It's water-resistant but not washable, and it's meant for decorative use only.

What is the difference between single and double face satin?

Double-face satin has a smooth, glossy finish on both sides. Single-face satin is shiny on one side and matte on the other. Double face is softer and more luxurious, and it's the only satin we use.

Can you print on both sides?

We usually print one side. Because the satin is finished on both sides, we can double-print on request for an added charge. Contact us for a quote.

What is your return policy on custom ribbon?

Once you approve the mockup, custom ribbon orders are final, so please double-check spelling and grammar before you approve.
